In New Haven, Café Nine brings you a
Words & Music event tonight/Wednesday. Thursday Cafe Nine headlines
Tav Falco’s Panther Burns, appearing with Killer Kin. Friday’s 5pm Happy Hour
set features Acoustic Soup with Al Raebuck and Steve Blanchard, followed by the
late show with Mighty Tortuga, Carbon Based, Jonas, and more. Saturday’s weekly
Jazz Jam session is with Mike Coppola and Friends, followed by Portrait Party,
Mandala, Glambat, and more. The Sunday Matinée is a special Songwriter Series
with Mark Mirando, Marc Douglas Berardo, and Richard Neal, and the late show

Up in Hartford at Black-Eyed
Sally’s, it's the Wednesday weekly Community Blues Jam featuring Tim
McDonald, and Liviu’s Invitational comes your way on Thursday with special
guests. You can catch Soul Tsunami with Sonia Morant on Friday night, and on

At The State House in New Haven, get
down with Haitian on Wednesday with Haiti's RAM, appearing with Dr.
Caterwaul’s. KITKA, a Swedish electronic pop duo, make their Elm City debut on
Thursday, performing with T-Wreck and Underwear. Goodnight Moonshine with
special guest Letitia VanSant take the stage on Friday, and they’ve got a
Champions League Final event Saturday afternoon, followed by Indie night with
Ports of Spain, The Right Offs, and more. The finish out the weekend with Blues

At te Russell Library in Middletown,
Scrabble Wednesday is on the books at 5 pm and will be followed by a meeting of
the Connecticut Poetry Society, and a Summer Teen Volunteer Orientation.
Russell library hosts a community presentation on Thursday by Dr. Ruth Potee on
Adolescent Substance Abuse and the Developing Brain. There are more Teen
Volunteer Orientations on Saturday, and in the afternoon you can enjoy the next
session of their Jazz Up Close series with vibraphonist and composer Joe Locke

The Middletown Arts & Culture
Office announces that the eighth annual Middletown Music Festival happens this
Friday through Sunday, co-sponsored by Middlesex Community College and taking
place right on their campus. Enjoy the music, along with craft beer tasting,
vendors, food, and more. The Recreation Division hosts a free Nature Walk and
Scavenger Hunt for families Saturday morning at Crystal Lake. On Saturday
night, Slingshot Dakota, Tier, and Perennial are at the MAC 650 Gallery &
Artist Co-Op. The GM Chorale brings its new concert, Alchemy: Come to the
Music, to First Church in Glastonbury on Saturday, and to the United

Manic Presents is at the Wall Street
Theater in Norwalk on Friday with The Musical Box: A Genesis Extravaganza. Or,

Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues
“The Serengeti Rules,” a nature documentary about how to heal ecosystems, and
“Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blanché,” a film detailing the life
of the first female filmmaker. Also continuing is “Walking on Water,” a
documentary about Christo’s latest art installation atop Italy’s Lake
Iseo. Friday’s opening is “The Biggest Little Farm,” a documentary about
a California couple’s restoration of a 200-acre farm. The 32nd Annual LGBTQ
Film Festival offering on Saturday is a selection of eight shorts about young

At Trinity College’s Cinestudio in
Hartford the run of “War and Peace, Part 2,” a 1965 Russian production of the
Tolstoy’s classic. They open the 32nd Annual CT LBGTQ Festival on Friday with
