Here in Middletown, The Buttonwood Tree holds its Moments of Gratitude and Open Mic tonight hosted by Ashley Hamel. Simple Tai Chi with Mike McEwen happens Wednesday evening and Thursday at noon, and on Thursday evening there’s a Gong and Sound Meditation. Enjoy medicine music and reggae on Friday with Sky Alan and HannaH. The Aligned with Source Workshop is on board Saturday morning, and there’s a Teen Open Mic in the afternoon. In New Haven, at Café Nine, Manic Monday brings you Trapper
Schoepp, The Proud Flesh, and Elison Jackson. On Tuesday you can catch Haunting
Titans, Daze In, and The Grand Factor. The Murder Junkies and The Sadists take
the stage on Wednesday, and on Thursday they’ve got the Shellye Valauskas
Experience, Love Love, and Rick Berlin. Friday’s
Happy Hour features Dittymack, and the late show headlines Matthew Milia,
appearing with S.G. Carlson, Closebye, and more. Saturday’s Jazz Jam Session is with Tony
Dioguardi & Friends, followed by the late show with The Right Offs, The
Eric Ducoff Band, and Streamline. The Sunday Matinée is A Toast to the Piano
Man, and they round out the weekend with Yarrow, Taking Meds, Bitch Fit, and

Up in Hartford at Black-Eyed Sally’s, Jazz Mondays hosts the
Andrew Wilcox Sextet. Michael Palin’s Other Orchestra brings you jazz, R&B,
soul classics, and more on Tuesday. Wednesday’s Community Blues Jam features
Ray Morant, and Liviu’s Invitational comes your way on Thursday with special
guests. Friday’s headliner is drummer Jonathan Barber, and the LB3 Band takes

The Russell Library in Middletown hosts the Readers Theater
tonight at 7 pm presenting Max Wilk’s “Mr. Williams and Miss Wood.” There’s a
Job and Career Workshop Tuesday, “Job Search Basics,” with Elizabeth LaRegina,
and the Russell Readers meet to discuss “What We Talk About When We Talk About
Anne Frank.” In their One Book Women’s Initiative series, the library sponsors
a discussion of “Educated” at Perk on Main Street on Wednesday, and there’s the
usual Scrabble at 5 pm, as well as a Summer Teen Volunteer Orientation. The

Author Night today at 7 pm with the theme of Mystery Books They host Megan

Manic Presents hosts events at The Space Ballroom in Hamden,
starting with Meat Puppets, Sumo Princess, and Stephen Maglio on Tuesday. On
Wednesday, they bring you Moby in conversation with Michael Ian Black,
co-hosted by RJ Julia Booksellers. On Thursday they headline Ron Funches with
the Merriment Marauder Tour, appearing with Gabe Dinger. You can catch Kevin
Devine and John K Samson on Friday, along with Shannen Moser. The Hold Steady
and The Dream Syndicate will be at the Space on Saturday. At the College Street Music Hall, they’ve got
Shakey Graves and Illiterate Light on Thursday. On Friday, it’s MGMT and
Warpaint, and on Saturday they bring you Johnnyswim: The Moonlight Tour,

Wednesday with Richard Thompson and Solo Acoustic. Saxophonist Maceo Parker

Two-Step 2.0 featuring Rex Fowler & Friends. It’s reggae on Sunday with
Julian Marley. Infinity Norfolk brings

The Friday Night Music series at the Hartford Flavor Company brings you Illuminous,
POSSM, You’re Not Listening and More. Enjoy Sensual Salsa Saturdays at the Red
Rock Tavern Saturday night, and you can hear New England folk musicians on

Middletown Arts & Culture Office announces the Rockfall
Foundation’s environmental networking event Thursday at Cinder + Salt on Main
Street, featuring Wesleyan’s Sustainability Director Jennifer Kleindienst
speaking on Meet Your Greens. The Recreation Division brings you Friday Night
BINGO at 5:30, and a Family Tie Die Workshop Saturday morning, both at the
Senior Center. Learn about German Immigration Prior to the Revolutionary War at

First Church in Middletown announces a free community event Saturday
at 7 pm. They’re sponsoring a performance of Julius Lester’s “Day of Tears,”

Now here's a rundown of cinema off the beaten track in
Central Connecticut:
Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues “Amazing Grace,” an
Aretha Franklin documentary with a never-before-seen performance of the anthem from
1972, and “Hail Satan?” a documentary about the Satanic Temple, through
Thursday. Also continuing is “Meeting Gorbachev,” a documentary about the
Russian leader. Opening Friday is “Little Woods,” a drama about two women in a
small Western town, and “Iyengar: The Man, Yoga and the Student’s Journey.” Check

Trinity College’s Cinestudio in Hartford continues “Diane,” about a rural Massachusetts woman who finds purpose in serving others, through Wednesday. Henry. From classic bop to smooth contemporary sounds, it’s a well-rounded jazz
show for true jazz heads.
From 6-6:30pm, it’s (2, 4) Radical Radiowaves with DJ
Oracle. Radical Radiowaves chronicles the actions of the left locally and
across the country, to resist against our current system and to create
something newer, freer and more liberating for us all.
From 6:30-8pm, it’s 75% Folk with Michael Benson - A mix of
contemporary folk, blues, jazz and acoustic music, along with occasional live
interviews.
Until 9:30, Chip Austin brings you (2,4) Unfocused Folk.
Americana music from Nashville and around the world including Folk, acoustic
Country and roots-Rock from both emerging and veteran artists.
After Unfocused Folk, catch Cruiser’s Radio Program with

Until 2:30am, there’s (2, 4) Cloggin the Noggin with DJ Ween
and DJ Oatneel. Every day is national something day. We clog your nog with
facts and know-how about the thing of the day. A fresh theme every week and
music that catches your vibes where they are.
From 2:30-3:30am Roots World is on air. Roots World Radio
takes you on a tour across borders and genres, introducing you to music from
far flung places and sometimes from right in your own backyard.
From 3:30-4am is Nutmeg Junction, a new originally scripted
audio theater program that celebrates every genre of the golden age of radio.
And finally, rounding out the night from 4-5am is the BBC
World Report offering International news coverage and we kick off each weekday
at 5am with Morning Edition from NPR.
