you'll hear uncommon songs of the 1960s and 70s from across the musical genres.

At the Buttonwood Tree this afternoon the
Hearing Voices Network with Jessica Miller meets and tonight at 8 the Sharp 5

on Main St in Middletown presents a “Cup of Joke” Comedy and Coffee Event

The City of Middletown Fireworks
Festival with entertainment and activities for kids and families including face
painters and roaming circus performers is tomorrow starting at 5pm. State
Troubadour Nekita Waller will host the main stage on the City Hall lawn
showcasing live rock, R&B, rap, salsa and an all-star drumming ensemble. The fireworks display over the river will
start at 9:30 p.m. with live by accompaniment by the Middletown Symphonic Band

Down in New Haven tonight, Café Nine
presents live music with THE WOGGLES and Renegade Lounge. Tonight's weekly 5pm
Happy hour live music set features Snake Hill Blues this week. Later tonight,
you can catch Seepeoples, Portrait Party, and Private Language. Café Nine’s
weekly Saturday afternoon jazz jam session is with the Billy Cofrances, this
week. WRECKLESS ERIC and Pete Mazza (of Jacques Le Coque) are the main event
Saturday night. The Sunday matinée features SWEETHEART OF THE RODEO’S TRIBUTE
TO GRAM PARSONS AND JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK, and they finish out the weekend

Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues two
film screenings this week, “Pavarotti,” is a documentary of legendary opera
singer, and “Woodstock: Three Days that Defined a Generation,” explores the
iconic event defined as more miracle than mess. Check the website for details

Starting tonight, Trinity College’s
Cinestudio in Hartford begins a run of the new Chinese action drama, Shadow
(Ting). The Sunday matinée National Theatre Live performance features SMALL

Right after the Jive, it’s Grand
Central Station with DJ Jenny Doll, inviting you to travel back in time to the
1940's and 1950's with a swinging upbeat show filled with big band, jazz,
swing, and rockabilly.
From 7-9 pm, The Universal Sound Wave
with Sista Queen T., offers a wide range of music including African, reggae,
gospel, R&B, Latin, and blues. Plus health, nutrition, and stress reduction
tips.
From 9:00-10pm board the Train to
Skaville with Brian Tomsic who brings out the best hits of the ska era of
popular Jamaican music, as well as highly sought after obscure releases.
From 10- Midnight, stay tuned for
Mentaltown with The Ultimate Emcee El Vee, presenting 2 hrs of Local Unsigned
Hip Hop artists.
From 12:00-3am, stay tuned for
Overdrive with Clarence and Shantay Scott. Praising God with a unique mix of
urban contemporary, hip hop, and traditional gospel music.
Rounding out the evening and swinging
into the morning from 3-5am it’s Louisiana Barn Dance from Pacifica, and then
we kick off our Saturday programming from 5-6 with BBC World Report.
