By day, WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica, as well as independent
and local public affairs sources. Weeknights and weekends our student and
community volunteers bring you the best in free-form programming.
I'm Leith Johnson, host of The Light Fandango,
heard every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of the month at 4pm, where
you'll hear uncommon songs of the 1960s and 70s from across the musical genres.

Here in Middletown,
The Buttonwood Tree has a blend of classical and flamenco guitar blend with
vocals tonight when Christian and Carolina present World & Soul. On Sunday
afternoon, Buttonwood artists are providing entertainment at the Lyman Orchards
Food Truck on the Farm event, and on Sunday evening, the Griot Arts Project
takes the stage with storytelling to celebrate both uniqueness and

The Russell Library
in Middletown announces has yoga in the Hubbard Room Saturday morning. If

Nine, today’s happy hour features Sean Conlon, followed by the late show with
Howe Gelb and Chris Bousquet. Saturday’s jazz jam session is with the George
Baker Band, and in the evening they host a record release event with The End of
America appearing with Antonino Lappostato and Ryan Patrick White. The Sunday
matinée features Stash Wyslouch, and they finish out the weekend with Marbin

in Wallingford brings you Glass Idols, Discoveries, Huo, and Proxima Centauri

Up in Hartford at
Black-Eyed Sally’s, they’re holding an official Dave Matthews Pre-Concert Party

du Soleil presents “Luzia,” for the next two weeks under the Big Top at
Riverfront Plaza, with performances Wednesday through Sunday. On Saturday
morning, veterans and service members are invited to introductory rowing and
kayaking sessions at Riverside Park, and the Cedar Hill Cemetery offers a “Lest
We Forget: Infectious Diseases 1850-1918” tour. The Butler McCook House and
Garden offers free garden admission on Sunday to celebrate CT Historic Gardens
Day. The Hartford Mindfulness Center holds guided meditations every Monday at

Hartford’s Real Art
Ways presents “Pavarotti,” a documentary of legendary opera singer, and
“Woodstock: Three Days that Defined a Generation,” a film that explores the

Trinity College’s
Cinestudio in Hartford has “The Silence of Others,” a Spanish film that follows
the epic struggle of justice-seeking victims of Generalissimo Francisco Franco.
The Sunday matinée National Theatre Live performance is a new adaptation of

Right after the Jive, it’s Grand Central Station
with DJ Jenny Doll, inviting you to travel back in time to the 1940's and
1950's with a swinging upbeat show filled with big band, jazz, swing, and
rockabilly.
From 7-9 pm, The Universal Sound Wave
with Sista Queen T., offers a wide range of music including African, reggae,
gospel, R&B, Latin, and blues. Plus health, nutrition, and stress reduction
tips.
From 9:00-10pm board the Train to
Skaville with Brian Tomsic who brings out the best hits of the ska era of
popular Jamaican music, as well as highly sought after obscure releases.
From 10- Midnight, stay tuned for
Mentaltown with The Ultimate Emcee El Vee, presenting 2 hrs of Local Unsigned
Hip Hop artists.
From 12:00-3am, stay tuned for
Overdrive with Clarence and Shantay Scott. Praising God with a unique mix of

Rounding out the evening and swinging
into the morning from 3-5am it’s Louisiana Barn Dance from Pacifica, and then
