The Russell Library in Middletown offers a lecture tonight
(Tues), Digital Marketing: Your Business’s Online Presence. The Racial Justice
Book Group also meets at Russell Library tonight, to discuss “Behold the
Dreamers” by Ibolo Mbue. There’s a Family Scavenger Hunt Wednesday morning, and
in the evening they’ll be screening the film “Wonder” as part of the One Book
on the Riverbend series. They host Susan R Waide Thursday evening who presents
a Write Your Memoir workshop. There’s an Introduction to the Internet workshop

Tonight at 7pm, The Wesleyan Center for the Arts presents
the University Steelband Concert at Beckham Hall. Tomorrow/Wednesday at 7pm,
there’s a South Indian Music Student Recital in World Music Hall. On Thursday
you explore Javanese Gamelan and Dance, also at World Music Hall, and there’s a
Chamber Music Concert as well at Crowell Concert Hall. On Friday there’s a Taiko
drumming concert at Crowell hall. They open the play “Life is a Dream” on
Friday at CFA Theater, with performances through the weekend. There’s a Senior
Recital at the Ring Family Performing Arts Hall on Friday. On Saturday, the
Wesleyan Concert Choir performs at Crowell Concert Hall, and the Worlds of
Dance Concert happens there on Sunday. The University Orchestra celebrates the

In New Haven, at Café
Nine tonight, Drop Part, Instant
Treeline, and Private Language share a bill. On Wednesday at Café Nine it’s a
Comedy Open Mic with Dan Rice. Amy Lavere and Will Sexton headline on Thursday,
appearing with Nathaniel Hintz. Friday at 5pm, Café nine’s Weekly Wind Down
Happy Hour features BURNING SENSATIONS. Friday
night at Café Nine, you can catch Dangerous Animals, The Right Offs, and ditch
boys. Saturday afternoon’s weekly jazz Jam at Café nine will be hosted by Mike
Copolla and friends. Saturday night you can catch The Freddy Deboe Band featuiring
members of the Dap-Kings, the Sugarman 3, and The Extraordinaires Café Nine’s
Sunday Buzz Matinee’s has Xavier Serrano and Shy, and they round out the
weekend at the Sunday night late show with Lord Youth, Dust Hat, and Sarah

The Buttonwood Tree in Middletown brings you Laughter Yoga
this evening. On Wednesday Chicago folk artist Andrew Calhoun takes the stage
with special guest Hugh Blumenfeld. There’s an Acoustic Open Mic with Bob Gotta
on Thursday, and on Friday they bring back Story City Troup. On Saturday
morning it’s the Aligned with Source workshop, and in the evening join their

and on Saturday at The Space Ballroom it’s Neil Hamburger and Major

Up in Hartford at Black-Eyed Sally’s, on Tuesday nights Michael
Palin’s Other Orchestra performs jazz, soul, and classics on Tuesday, and on

Band and Saturday you can hear the classic soul sounds of Memphis with the

“Unclaimed Property,” the music of Donald Grantham, Wednesday at 7:30 at the
Lincoln Theater in West Hartford. The Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz Ensemble
performs Thursday and Friday at 7:30 at Millard Auditorium. The Hartt Wind
Ensemble and Symphony Band perform at the Lincoln Theater on Saturday.

Artists for World Peace presents its 2nd Interfaith Dialogue
on Sunday, May 6th, from 2PM to 5PM, at the deKoven House, 27 Washington Street
in Middletown, Connecticut. The first in a trilogy, this dialogue will present
seven spiritual leaders from different faiths in an open dialogue that will
focus on our similarities and differences through the rituals of birth and the
coming of age. Also featured will be the International Peace Belt and the
six-by-six Peace Wall. The event is free

Now here's a rundown of cinema off the beaten track in
Central Connecticut:
Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues “Little Pink House,” a
film about a woman fighting eminent domain in New London, and “Zama,” a South
American film about colonialism and one man’s destiny, through Thursday. On
Friday they open “Hitler’s Hollywood,” a documentary that collages key films

Trinity College’s Cinestudio in Hartford continues “The
Party,” a British drawing room comedy, through Wednesday. On Friday they screen
