Good evening, it's Friday, May 4th. This is the Jive at
Five, our daily community calendar and rundown of nighttime programming here on
88.1 FM WESU Middletown. By day, WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica,
as well as independent and local public affairs sources. Weeknights and
weekends our student and community volunteers bring you the best in free-form
programming.
I'm Ben Michael - Thanx for tuning in! Each and every
day WESU provides listeners like you with talk radio and public affairs
coverage from NPR, Pacifica, and The BBC alongside local and independent voices
presenting unique free form programing that exposes listeners to music and
perspectives that just cannot be found on commercial radio or even the big
public radio stations.
If WESU is programed in your car radio, bookmarked in your
internet browser, or smart speaker - we are talking to you. WESU gets by with
the support of a few hundred donors who give what they can. This support has
been the backbone of the stations growth over the last 15 years. Imagine how
great this station could be if it was supported by a few thousand
listeners rather than a few hundred! A little bit goes a long way here
at WESU and our donors can take pride on this stations’ accomplishments knowing
they are in large responsible for our continued success as Central CTs #1
listener supported community radio station. Pease do your part and donate today! www.wesufm.org/pledge
You can also help WESU out by voting for us as best college
radio station in both the CTNow.com ‘s Hartford and New Haven Reader’s polls
happening now, where you can also vote for WESU DJ Rob DeRosa and his Homegrown
Radio show in the best radio personality and radio show categories!
