The Buttonwood Tree
in Middletown brings you its weekly Open Mic and Moments of Gratitude hosted by
Rob Terri tonight. There’s empowering yoga on Tuesday afternoon, with Laughter
Yoga and a Crystal Bowl Sound Healing in the evening. Friday night, you can
enjoy the George Washington Carver Project with Avery Sharpe & Kris Allen,
an original musical piece to honor the great scientist. On Saturday morning it’s
the Aligned With Source Workshop, and in the evening you can catch an acoustic
folk pop show with The Kennedys. On Sunday at 3 there’s a reception for the
current art exhibition by contemporary impressionist painter Bonnie Byrne

Black-Eyed Sally’s, it’s Jazz Mondays today with the Shawnn Monteiro Quartet. Every
Tuesday, see Michael Palin's Other Orchestra get funky with their take on jazz,
R&B, and soul classics. Wednesday's community blues jam session features Tommy
Whalen this week. On Thursday it’s multipercussionist Ed Mann w/ the Other

At the Russell
Library in Middletown, the Readers Theater presents “Third” by Wendy
Wasserstein tonight. There’s also an Action Together CT meeting featuring
several candidates for public office.
There’s a Tobacco Cessation Workshop on Tuesday morning, and Origami in
the evening. Their World War I discussion series continues each Wednesday
through the month. Veterans, families, and the public are invited to join at
the Middletown Senior Center at 10 am, or at 7 pm at the library. The Middlesex
Historical Society hosts Robert Hubbard Wednesday night who will speak on the
Revolutionary War hero Israel Putnam. On Saturday the Karkowska Sisters Duo
performs with chamber music, stories, and comedy. The Historic Sewing Circle
will be creating historical garments in the lobby Sunday from 1-4 pm. Check the

brings Grails and Landing to The Ballroom at The Outer Space in Hamden on

Bookstore in Middletown hosts several book signing events this week. On
Tuesday, meet Sophronia Scott who presents her new novel, “Unforgivable Love.” On
Wednesday it’s award-winning psychologist Dr. John Bargh with “Before You Know
It.” There’s also a skeleton-themed Maker Lab for kids on Wednesday. David
Howard is in on Thursday with his true crime caper, “Chasing Phil.” The Hillary

International Film Festival continues on Tuesday with a screening of “The
Salesman,” an Iranian film about a woman’s search for her assailant. It’s at

Ways continues the run of “Wind River,” a thriller about a murder on a Native
American reservation, and “Lucky,” about the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old
