Fri, Jan. 3

Good evening, it's Friday, January 3rd, and a brand new year!  This is the Jive at Five, our daily community  calendar and rundown of nighttime programming here on 88.1 FM WESU Middletown. By day, WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica, as well as independent and local public affairs sources. Weeknights and weekends our student and community volunteers bring you the best in free-form programming.

I'm Maria Johnson, on hiatus from my Reasonably Catholic program on WESU, but I'll be coming out of retirement in three weeks to do my annual Oscar roundup with two veteran film critics, Richard Alleva and Rand Richards Cooper. Mark your calendar for 4:30 pm on Thursday, Jan. 23rd, when we'll spend a lively hour unpacking the Academy Awards Best Picture nominations. You won't want to miss it.

Meanwhile, we want you to know that 2019 was an incredible year for WESU! With under $9,000 in donations left to raise to meet our pledge drive goal, time is running out to close out this pledge drive! Every donation, no matter how small or large, is heartily appreciated! Make your donation count by keeping community radio on the air at wesufm.org/pledge.
Make your contribution and check out our great thank you gifts online at wesufm.org/pledge Every dollar counts and we really need to hear from you!
