Friday's Jive

Good evening, it's Friday, July 26th. This is the Jive at Five, our daily community calendar and rundown of nighttime programming here on 88.1 FM WESU Middletown. By day, WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica, as well as independent and local public affairs sources. Weeknights and weekends our student and community volunteers bring you the best in free-form programming.

I'm Maria Johnson, producer and host of Reasonably Catholic: Keeping the Faith, which airs every first, third and fifth Tuesday, from 4 to right before the Jive at Five. This Tuesday, two interviews with people who made a significant spiritual change in adulthood. The first is with Mike Thomas, who converted to Catholicism from Judaism and who is so committed to his new faith that he leads his chapter of a Catholic fraternal organization called the Catenians. Then the next interview is with the Richard DeBiasi, now a Christian minister. An Italian-American, he was raised Catholic but  now practices as a Messianic Jew; that is, a Jew who believes in Jesus. Both have interesting stories to tell. If you miss any of the episode or want to share it with friends, I’ll post it later tonight at reasonablycatholic.com.
