Now here's a rundown of what's going down in our area this
week.
This evening/Wednesday at 6pm, Middletown’s Russell Library screens
“The Silent Mountain” in their Great War on the Big Screen series. There’s a Cartooning
Workshop with Christopher Brown Wednesday night. Thursday’s evets include a
Teen Job Group, Fairy Houses for All Ages, and Storytelling for Teens. There’s

In New Haven at Café Nine tonight, they headline Sarayh
Shook & The Disarmers, appearing along with Daphne Lee Martin. Thursday,
it’s Valley Queen and Farewood at Café Nine. Friday’s Happy Hour is with
Bronson Rock, followed by the night show headlining Still I Rise, The 34’s,
Mystic Seahorse, and Saline. Saturday, Café Nine’s weekly afternoon Jazz Jam
Session is with Tony Dioguardi & Friends. Saturday’s late show features
Marshall Crenshaw Y Los Straitjackets, along with Sarah Borges. Café Nine’s
Sunday Buzz Matinee brings you Kristen Ford, Kyla P., and Olive Tiger. They

Up in Hartford at Black-Eyed Sally’s, tonight it’s the
weekly Wednesday Community Blues Jam hosted by Tommy Whalen this week. On
Thursday it’s Sally’s house band, The Po’ Boys. On Friday it’s a special visit
with Bill “Sauce Boss” Wharton, who sings with his slide guitar and makes gumbo
for all to share. On Saturday, it’s blues, rock, and country with The

Riverfront Recapture in Hartford offers a free yoga every
Wednesday at 6 p.m. You can enjoy

At Infinity Hall in Hartford, tonight, you can enjoy country
rock and folk with Lucinda Williams. It’s classic pop on Friday with The

Tomorrow/Thursday at 7pm, The Buttonwood Tree in Middletown
brings, their Shaking the Tree Song and Sound Meditation at the MAC 650 Gallery
across the street. On Friday, there’s a fundraiser for the White Raven Archives
project, featuring shape note singer/scholar Gabriel Kastelle and the music of
the Brothertown Indian Nation. Also appearing is guitarist R.D. King. On
Saturday morning it’s the Aligned With Source Workshop, and at 3 pm Saturday, it’s
a Teen Open Mic for performers ages 12-18. There’s Texas Folk Saturday night at
the Buttonwood with Adler & Hearne. The Hearing Voices Network meets Monday

The Outdoor Concert Series of the Connecticut Historical
society continues this Thursday at 6 pm with the music of Daymark, a trio

Cherry St. Station in Wallingford brings you Chuggernaut,
Outside My Head, Imbroglio, and control Scheme on Friday. They celebrate Jake’s

Now here's a rundown of cinema off the beaten track in
Central Connecticut:
Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues the run of “Lost in
Paris,” a comedic story of finding love in the City of Lights. Also continuing
is “Pop Aye,” a Thai movie about the reunion of a Bangkok architect and
elephant. The afternoon movie is ”Beatriz at Dinner,” starring Salma Hayek as
an immigrant who collides with a billionaire. All run through Thursday. On
Friday they open “The Last Dalai Lama?” a documentary about the future of a
spiritual leader in the Buddhist tradition. There’s a post-film Q & A with
