Here in Middletown at The Buttonwood Tree, Tom Wrann and Tom Mooney bring you acoustic guitars, a banjo stick, and more tonight. The Aligned with Source Workshop happens Saturday morning, followed by a Teen Open Mic in the afternoon. The evening performance is the Indie Pop ensemble TRAG. In New Haven tonight ,Friday’s 5pm Happy Hour show features The Buttondowns. Later Friday night, Eurisko, City Streets Country Roads, Kevin MF King, and more take the Café Nine Stage. Saturday’s afternoon Jazz Jam Session is with Tony Dioguardi & Friends. Saturday night Café Nine features The Men in Gray Suits, Black Flamingos, and Ninth Wave. The Sunday Buzz Matinee features Kevin Gordon and Dave Hogan, and the Sunday late show closes out the weekend with Frenchy and the Punk, and The Men That Will Not Be Blamed for Nothing. http://www.cafenine.com/

Manic Presents offers The Struts and Badflower at College Street on today, and on Sunday they headline Gillian Welch. At the Space Ballroom in Hamden Manic Presents offers JD McPherson and Elison Jackson on today, and Mystic Bowie’s Talking Dreads, along with Jen Durkin and The Business, on Saturday. www.manicpresents.com

Here in Middletown, each Wednesday in July, the Wadsworth Mansion will open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking, and shows on the Mansion’s back lawn will begin at 6:30 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public however, donations are accepted and appreciated. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnics or enjoy delicious food from a participating food truck. This week’s performer is Funky Dawgz Brass Band. http://www.wadsworthmansion.com
Infinity Hall in Hartford brings you Blac Rabbit with original rock and Beatles covers on today. On Saturday, enjoy Southern rock with The Artimus Pyle Band. The 27th annual Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz happens this weekend in Bushnell Park starting on Friday at 7 pm. The Friday lineup includes salsa and jazz with Orquesta Espada, and Spyro Gyra. On Saturday it’s Trombeatz, Ace Livingston, the Elan Trotman Caribbean Connection, and more. Once again, our sincere thanks to those who helped bring our
spring pledge drive to a successful close. thanks also for your patience over
the past week while our FM broadcast was down after our antenna was struck by
lightning. We are back on air on a temporary antenna while we work to repair
our regular antenna ASAP.
