Tonight at The Buttonwood
Tree in Middletown, The Dan Laparini Trio takes the stage with Latin jazz, R &
B, and more. The Aligned with Source Workshop & Meditation is
Saturday morning, and there’s a Teen Open Mic Saturday afternoon. Saturday
night it’s the Lost Acres String Band. The International Women’s Day art
exhibit continues through the month, featuring various artists. The Hearing

The
Russell Library in Middletown Saturday at 1:30 presents the Irish/New England

New Haven’s Café Nine Friday’s Happy Hour features The
Buttondowns., followed by the late show with Barrence Whitfield & The
Savages, and Daddy Long Legs. Saturday’s Jazz Jam Session is with Tony
Dioguardi & Friends, and the late show’s got Cyperna, Ultramantis Back,
Intercourse, and Scalp the Pioneer. The Sunday Buzz Matinee features Steve
Mednick, Eddie Seville, and more, and the late show is a Sex Beat Dance Party
with DJ Kid Congo Powers. Details

In Hartford at
Black-Eyed Sally’s, tonight it’s the
Bruce Katz Band. On Saturday, you can catch blues/rock with the Sue Menhart

The Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford presents
Incarnations, an exclusive dance performance shown in conjunction with the
exhibition Gorey’s World, this Saturday at 2 pm. They hold a St. Patrick’s Day

Infinity Hall
Hartford tonight presents country and pop with Lee Ann Womack. On Saturday,
they present Moondance, the Ultimate Van Morrison Tribute Show. On Sunday at

The
skating rink at Harbor Park in Middletown is now open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Wesleyan Center for the Arts hosts the Opening Reception for the Middletown

Hartford’s
Real Art Ways continues Loving Vincent
on Sunday afternoon. Today they open “Goldstone,”
about clashing cultures in an Australian mining outpost, and “Leaning into the Wind: Andy Goldsworthy,”
a continuation of an artist’s travelogue. Lady
Bird is their afternoon movie through March 22nd. Their Film 101
Series continues on Sunday with a screening of the 1956 film noir move, “The Killing,” which includes a post-film

Trinity College’s Cinestudio in Hartford
continues “Darkest Hour,” a film
about Winston Churchill, that runs through Saturday. Sunday’s
opening is “No Stone Unturned,” an

now let’s take a look at tonight’s programming on WESU and to be safe, it's

Right
after the Jive At Five from 5:05 to 6:30pm, it'll be Wild
Wild Live! with DJ Balsamic & DJ Pig in the City expounding on that
Wesleyan music scene.
And
from 6:30-7pm catch the Middletown Youth Radio Project, a weekly radio
program featuring the thoughts, voices, creativity and talent of the kids in
the WESU neighborhood.
At 7
until 8:30pm we have the Universal
Sound Wave with Sista Queen T - offering a wide range of music including
African, reggae, gospel, R&B, Latin, and blues. Plus health, nutrition, and
stress reduction tips.
Next up until 10pm, we take it From the Otherside with Rok-A-Dee where 60% of the show is love songs of different genre and the others Reggae Dancehall, R&B, and new artiste.
Then from 10 to 11:30pm it's Strickly Off the Head where DJ Cocomotion the Music Mixologist provides a live mixshow done on the fly or freestyle, with no pre-planned mixes or blends - R&B, old school, hip hop, rap and house.

From 3 until 5am you are taken to Wonderland with DJ Cheshire Cat, who has a song in his heart, a chemical imbalance in his head and a musical library at his fingers. From krautrock to post-rock, grunge to garage, novelty to New Romantic, punk to prog, Wonderland has a place for it.
