Story City Troupe takes the stage
tonight in Middletown at The Buttonwood Tree. The Aligned with Source Workshop
& Meditation happens Saturday morning. Khalif Neville, son of New Orleans
jazz great Charles Neville, performs Saturday night. On Sunday, the Buttonwood
sponsors the 2nd annual Music for Giving Family Concert: A Tribute to Harry Chapin,

the Russell Library in Middletown on Saturday at 1:30 it’s Performance 20/20, by
the Honors Chamber Music group from the Hartt School. On Sunday, the American
Association of University Women sponsors a celebration of International Women’s

New Haven’s Café Nine Friday’s Happy Hour features Snake
Hill Blues and later the main event features Black Snake Boots. On Saturday night,
it’s Chaser Eight, Run Jenny, and Parkway South. Café Nine’s Sunday Buzz
Matinee features Peter Mulvey and Lara Herscovitch, and Sunday night it’s Look

In Hartford at
Black-Eyed Sally’s, tonight it’s Lucky Peterson. On Saturday you can

Hartford tonight presents Awaken – A Tribute to the Music of YES. On Saturday,
it’s alternative and country rock with Lucero. On Sunday afternoon, enjoy UHart

Wesleyan Center for the Arts presents baritone Tom Buckner performing works for
voice by Robert Ashley tonight at Crowell Concert Hall. On Saturday at 1 pm at
the Russell House, there’s a discussion of Robert Ashley’s Life and Work. Also
on Saturday, enjoy a Guided Exhibition Tour of A New Subjectivity: Figurative
Painting after 2000, at the Zilkha Gallery. The Wesleyan University Orchestra
performs a Children’s Concert and Musical Instrument Petting Zoo Saturday at 3
pm at Crowell Concert Hall. Robert Ashley’s new opera, Crash, will be performed

Cultural Center in Hartford hosts a free poetry reading Sunday at 3 pm with featured

Real Art Ways continues its 2018 Oscar

by Raoul Peck, and Saturday at 11am is Film 101, a discussion and showing of

now let’s take a look at tonight’s programming on WESU and to be safe, it's

Right
after the Jive At Five from 5:05 to 6:30pm, it'll be Wild
Wild Live! with DJ Balsamic & DJ Pig in the City expounding on that
Wesleyan music scene.
And
from 6:30-7pm catch the Middletown Youth Radio Project, a weekly radio
program featuring the thoughts, voices, creativity and talent of the kids in
the WESU neighborhood.
At 7
until 8:30pm we have the Universal
Sound Wave with Sista Queen T - offering a wide range of music including
African, reggae, gospel, R&B, Latin, and blues. Plus health, nutrition, and
stress reduction tips.
Next up until 10pm, we take it From the Otherside with Rok-A-Dee where 60% of the show is love songs of different genre and the others Reggae Dancehall, R&B, and new artiste.
Then from 10 to 11:30pm it's Strickly Off the Head where DJ Cocomotion the Music Mixologist provides a live mixshow done on the fly or freestyle, with no pre-planned mixes or blends - R&B, old school, hip hop, rap and house.

From 3 until 5am you are taken to Wonderland with DJ Cheshire Cat, who has a song in his heart, a chemical imbalance in his head and a musical library at his fingers. From krautrock to post-rock, grunge to garage, novelty to New Romantic, punk to prog, Wonderland has a place for it.
