Up in Hartford at Black-Eyed Sally’s, the weekly Community
Blues Jam happens on Wednesday nights and this week’s session will be hosted by
Gene Donaldson. It’s Liviu’s Invitational at Sally’s on Thursday, and on Friday
Loups Garou (Lu-Ga-Ru) takes the stage. It’s blues, R&B, soul, and more on
Saturday with Jeff Pitchell & Texas Flood.

Now here's a rundown of cinema off the beaten track in
Central Connecticut:
Through Thursday Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues “The Florida Project,”
about a family in a budget motel near Disney World. “In the Fade (Aus Dem Nichts),” a German
film about a mother who loses her child in a Neo-Nazi bomb attack also ends its runs tomorrow (Thurs). Battle of the Sexes ends its run as Real Art Ways afternoon film, tomorrow (Thurs). Weekend offerings include “Rebels on Pointe,” a documentary about the drag group Les Ballets Trockadero
de Monte Carlo. Also kicking off a run at Real Art Ways this weekend is: In Between, which tells the story of three very different Palestinian women living together in Tel Aviv, as they try to find a balance between traditional and modern culture. Check the website for

Tonight, Trinity College’s Cinestudio in Hartford ends their
run of “Loving Vincent,” an animated feature about the iconic artist, Vincent
Van Goh. On Thursday they open “Heat and Dust,” a restored James Ivory film
about a woman’s trip to India to learn about her scandalous aunt. The Bolshoi
