At the Buttonwood Tree in Middletown today, you can enjoy jazz and classic rock with The Modern Riggs. The Aligned With Source workshop happens tomorrow morning, followed by All the Write Ways: A Workshop for Self-Expression at 1 pm.
David Houston takes the stage tonight with “Leap Night,” an evening of poetic riddles and music. You can view the current exhibition throughout the month that includes the photography of Ryan Martin Callanan and Heather Cohn. www.buttonwood.org

The Saturday Jazz Jam Session is led by Billy Cofrances, followed by the late show with Chaser Eight, Trashing Violet, and Bad Bad Stereo. The Connecticut Poetry Society holds a Poets on Poetry event at the Hartford Public Library on Saturday, where Nancy Clarke Otter will discuss poet Jo Harjo.

There’s a Senior Recital on Friday at the Ring Family Hall, and a symposium there on Saturday featuring the work of the Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance.

Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues screenings of the Oscar-winning film, “Parasite,” and “The Cordillera of Dreams,” a Chilean documentary that blends historical memory, political trauma, and geography, and "Cat Video Fest 2020" All run this weekend. From 6 to 6:30, the Middletown Youth Radio Project with DJ Itsjobro, DJ Juicebox and DJ Stocks'n'socks features the thoughts, voices, creativity and talent of the kids in the WESU neighborhood.
From 6:30-8pm the Universal Sound Wave with Sista Queen T has a wide range of music including African, reggae, gospel, R&B, Latin, and blues. Plus health, nutrition, and stress reduction tips.
From 8-9:30 pm, it’s Grand Central Station with DJ Jenny Doll. Travel back in time to the 1940's and 1950's with a swinging upbeat show filled with big band, jazz, swing and rockabilly, and some new releases.
At 9:30 until 10:30 Loxion Music Mix Show with M-Point presents A showcase of the newest and best of Southern African Electronica.
From 10:30pm-11:30pm, Mentaltown with The Ultimate Emcee El Vee serves up Local Hip Hop. Unsigned.
And then at 11:30pm it’s time for Permanent Collection with Chris Non-toxic.
At 1 until 2am, Rust with Sinbad discusses affairs of the Wesleyan and Middletown community.
From 2-4am, Back Down the Bayou with Bill Boelens takes you to the Banana Plantation in Baton Rouge for an eclectic mix of Louisiana and roots music.
And then at 4 it’s a rebroadcast of the day’s Democracy Now! From Pacifica.
