Five, our daily community calendar and rundown of nighttime programming here on
88.1 FM WESU Middletown. By day, WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica,
as well as independent and local public affairs sources. Weeknights and
weekends our student and community volunteers bring you the best in free-form
programming.
I'm Leith Johnson, host of The Light Fandango, heard every 1st,
3rd, and 5th Sunday of the month at 4 pm, where you'll hear uncommon songs of
the 1960s and 70s from across the musical genres. I hope you'll tune in.

At the Buttonwood Tree in Middletown, Rice Jenkins presents
Centennial Cole: 100 Years of Nat “King” Cole tonight. The Aligned With Source
workshop happens tomorrow morning, followed by All the Write Ways: A Workshop
for Self-Expression at 1 pm. Singer/songwriter Randy Moses brings his House of
Moses LIVE band to the Buttonwood tomorrow night, and on Sunday there’s a Reiki
Share at 2 pm. You can view the current exhibition throughout the month that

In New Haven, at Café Nine, today’s Happy Hour happening right
now features Lynn Malavolti, and this evening you can catch Grizzlor, TRVSS,
and Hylda. The Saturday Jazz Jam Session is led by the Café 9 All-Stars,
followed by the late show with Gutter Demons and Johnny Cab. The Sunday Buzz
matinée brings you Jeff Przech, Dennis Fancher, and more, and they round out

At Black-Eyed Sally’s in Hartford, it's pianist Anthony Geraci
and the Boston Blues All Stars tonight and blues-based rock and roll with Mambo

Up in Hartford, tonight the Knox Greenhouse hosts an Urban
Greenhouse Party with craft beer and a silent auction and The Natural Soul and
special guest Nikita are at the Arch Street Tavern. Tomorrow afternoon, the
Yard Goats hold their 2020 auditions for a mascot Donuts Park. Tomorrow night, The
Webster hosts Gabriel and the Apocalypse, Jump the Fall, and more and The
Alchemystics and Phat A$stonaut are at the Arch Street Tavern. The Wadsworth

Tonight at the State House in New Haven, No Mind/Tales of Joy,
and Chris Daly are on hand. They’re holding a Bloodroot Fundraiser Celebration

At the Russell Library in Middletown, Faith Jackson hosts a
Black History Month event including poetry, music, and special tributes on

Maxband take the stage, and tomorrow they’ve got Carbon Based, Bonsai Trees,

Now here's a rundown of cinema off the beaten track in Central
Connecticut
Hartford’s Real Art Ways has the Oscar-winning South Korean
film, “Parasite,” “The Woman Who Loves Giraffes,” about a woman who studied
African wildlife, “The Tobacconist” about a young man who asks Sigmund Freund
for romantic advice, and “The Corderilla of Dreams,” an exploration of historical
memory, political trauma, and geography in Chile. Details and screening times at www.realartways.org
Trinity College’s Cinestudio continues the run of “Kind Hearts
and Coronets,” a restoration of this 1949 black comedy about a serial killer
aspiring to become a Duke, through tonight. Their 50th Anniversary Celebration is
tomorrow, and you can free screenings of “Yellow Submarine” and “Alice’s
Restaurant,” along with refreshments and a costume contest. Their Sunday matinée
is the Bolshoi Ballet’s performance of “Swan Lake,” and in the evening they open
