Five, our daily community calendar and rundown of nighttime programming here on
88.1 FM WESU Middletown. By day, WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica,
as well as independent and local public affairs sources. Weeknights and
weekends our student and community volunteers bring you the best in free-form
programming.
I'm Ben Michael, Thanks for joining us. If you are hearing
my voice over the FM airwaves, it means that WESU has returned to full
power after a period of reduced broadcast power that resulted from a direct
lightning strike to our Antenna at the end of June. Our thanks to WSHU Public Radio for loaning
us a smaller antenna that enabled us to broadcast at reduced power over the course
of the last month while our own antenna was being repaired. and our thanks to WESU listeners for your
patience.

The Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore in Middletown holds

Bluegrass Characters will be in the house to celebrate the life of the late bluegrass
legend Stacy Phillips. The Aligned with Source Workshop happens Saturday

In New Haven in just a few minutes, Café Nine’s 5pm Happy
Hour showcase features Bronson Rock, and later tonight evening Jazz Haven
presents a Jazz Festival Week-after party with the Kelly Green Trio at Café
Nine. Café Nine’s weekly Saturday afternoon Jazz Jam Session is with the George
Baker Band. Manic Presents brings you Gringo Star, Zero Year, and Mickey
Blurr for the Saturday night show at The Nine. The Sunday Buzz Matinee features
Christian Marrone and The 30th of February, and Sunday evening’s show at Cafe
Nine features Shake ‘n’ Vibrate with Reverend Beat-Man & Sister Nicole

Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues “Three Identical
Strangers,” a documentary about identical triplets adopted out at birth, and
“The Cakemaker,” about a young German baker’s relationship with an Israeli
businessman. Tonight, they open “Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda,” a documentary about

Tonight, Trinity College’s Cinestudio in Hartford opens a
run of “Won’t You Be My Neighbor,” a film exploring the legacy of Fred Rogers.

From 8:30-11:30 Its time for Strictly off the Head with DJ
Cocomotion the music mixologist presenting a live mix show done on the fly with
no prepared mixes or blends. Featuring classic hip hop and house and R&B.
then at 11:30 its Yowza with Connor Clockwize for an hour of
Punk rock and fun
From 12:30 to 3am stay tuned for Overdrive with Mixmaster Clarence and The Real Shantay for a high energy mix of christian gospel, hop hop, pop music.
At 3am stay tuned for Louisiana Barn Dance from Pacifica.
At 5am you can catch the BBC world Report before we kick of
our Saturday morning program with The Celtic Café at 6am followed by Café
Italia from 7-8.

last month while our FM broadcast range was reduced after our antenna was
struck by lightning. We are now back up and running at full power so stay
