In New Haven at Café Nine, right about now, thier weekly 5pm
live music Happy Hour features Lynn Malavolte, and the Friday Night main event
features you Lex the Lexicon Artist, Super Smack, Ashley Hamel, and DonutShoes.
Saturday, The Nine’s Weekly afternoon Jazz Jam session is with Tony Dioguardi
& Friends. Saturday night, The Bobby Lees, Warbats, and Zero Years take the
stage. The Sunday Buzz Matinée features Divided Heaven, The Sawtelles, and
more, and they round out the weekend with The Safes and Dagwood for the evening

The State House in New Haven, presents Los Wembler’s de
Iquitos for a night of Peruvian cumbia from the Amazon on Saturday, and on
Sunday you can hear heavy sludge and doom metal with Fistula, Grizzlor, and

Up in Hartford at Black-Eyed Sally’s, tonight you can catch their
annual Northeast Blues Harmonica Showcase and on Saturday at Sally’s you can catch

Tonight Manic
Presents brings Slaughter Beach, Dog, and Cave People to the Space Ballroom in
Hamden. They headline Darlingside at the Ballroom on Saturday, appearing with
Henry Jamison, and on Sunday Manic presents brings Mat Kerekes, Shortly, and
Teamonade to the Space Ballroom. At the College Street Music Hall, Manic brings
you Rainbow Kitten Surprise and Illiterate Light on Friday. On Saturday,
Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin performs the live score to Deep Red. www.manicpresents.com
At The Buttonwood Tree in Middletown, tonight you can check
out the traditional Irish trio, New Leaf’s CD Release Party. The Buttonwood
hosts a Teen Open Mic Saturday afternoon, and in the evening it’s Hola Pops!,
an Afro-Cuban trio with a night of originals and a tribute to Louis Armstrong.
There’s a Reiki Level 1 class on Sunday, and the Buttonwood invites you to

On Saturday afternoon at The Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore,
Stephan Allison, Host of WESU’s “River Valley Rhythms”, will present “be full,”
the last book of poetry by Middletown’s inaugural Poet Laureate, the late Susan
Allison, with special guests. Kids’ events continue this week and include a

The Middletown Arts & Culture Office reminds us that the
Community Foundation of Middlesex County hosts Every Little Beat Helps Saturday
at 1 pm at the Celtic Cavern in Middletown, where you can enjoy music by the

special Queer Cocktail Hour at Conspiracy lounge on Main St in Middletown, that
happens before the Connecticut premier of “Taylor Mac: A 24-Decade History of

Grammy Award-winning flutist Rhonda Larson, “Winds of the World,” Sunday at 3

Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues “Fiddler: A Miracle of
Miracles,” a documentary about the legacy of “Fiddler on the Roof,” and “Linda
Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice,” a celebration of the iconic vocalist.
Upcoming openings include “Say Amen, Somebody,” “Downton Abbey,” and “Jay
