Good evening, it's
Monday, September 10th. This is the Jive at Five, our daily community calendar
and rundown of nighttime programming here on 88.1 FM WESU Middletown. By day,
WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica, as well as independent and local
public affairs sources. Weeknights and weekends our student and community
volunteers bring you the best in free-form programming.
I’m Maria Johnson, producer and host of Reasonably Catholic: Keeping the Faith, which after tomorrow will resume its usual schedule of airing every first, third and fifth Tuesday, from 4 to right before the Jive at Five. Tomorrow, let's take a break. In need of some peace in light of recent church and state events, we focus on centering prayer, the Western counterpart to Eastern meditation practices. Our guests will be Mike Smoolca, whose resuscitated two moribund CT organizations devoted to the practice, and Grace Padilla, who singlehandedly brought centering prayer to the Philippines. We'll even get a tutorial in how to begin the practice ourselves. Can't listen live? Find the audio posted tomorrow evening at reasonablycatholic.com.
