Hartford’s Real Art Ways opens a new run of movies tonight, including “Madeline’s Madeline,” about blurred lines in a physical theater troupe, and “Museo,” about a museum heist in Mexico City. On Sunday they screen “Strangers on the Earth,” about a cellist making the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, and sponsor a post-film reception in conjunction with Concora’s Friends of Bach Committee. Trinity College’s Cinestudio in Hartford has a run of “Sorry to Bother You,” a dystopian sci-fi comedy through Saturday. At 6:30, it’s the Middletown Youth Radio Project, a weekly radio program featuring the thoughts, voices, creativity, and talent of the kids in the WESU neighborhood.

from 7-8:30 it’s the Universal Sound Wave with Sista Queen T – a wide range of music including African, reggae, gospel, r&b, latin, and blues. Plus health, nutrition, and stress reduction tips.

8:30-10 features Permanent Collection with Chris. My own collection; rescued from the trash and plucked from the web.

Until 11:30, DJ Cocomotion and the Music Mixologist present Strictly Off the Head. A live mixshow done on the fly or freestyle, no pre planned playlist mixes or blends. R&B, old school, hip hop, rap, and house.

from 11:30-12:30 it’s an A and a B with DJ N. Every band has its hits – and a multitude of unknown, hidden gems. Songs played per band (70s-2000s rock) seek to highlight this dichotomy.

From 12:30 -3 we have OVERDRIVE with Clarence and Shantay Scott. Praising God with the best urban contemporary, hip hop, and traditional gospel music on the planet!

Rounding out the night from 3-5 am it’s Louisiana Barn dance with classic country, western swing, hillbilly, rockabilly, and Americana music.

Tonight in Middletown, the Wesleyan Film Studies Department continues its Hispanic film series with a showing of “Zama” at 8pm in the Goldsmith Family Cinema. Directed by Lucrecia Martel, the New York Times has called Zama “a cinematic marvel that brilliantly tackles colonialism in the new world.”

Hartford’s Real Art Ways continues the run of “Foreign Body,” a film about the Tunisian revolution, and “Zoo,” about saving a young elephant from a Belfast Zoo slaughter, through Thursday. Also continuing are “Bel Canto,” about a guerrilla takeover of a private party of artists, and “Bisbee ’17,” a documentary about immigrant miners deported from Australia. Opening Friday are “Madeline’s Madeline,” about blurred lines in a physical theater troupe, and “Museo,” about a museum heist in Mexico City. On Sunday they screen “Strangers on the Earth,” about a cellist making the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, and sponsor a post-film reception in conjunction with Concora’s Friends of Bach Committee. Trinity College’s Cinestudio in Hartford continues the run of “RBG, a biopic of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, through Wednesday. On Thursday they open a run of “Sorry to Bother You,” a dystopian sci-fi comedy. It runs through Saturday. The National Theatre Live production of “King Lear” screens on Thursday and Sunday, and they’ll open a run of “Blindspotting” Sunday evening.
