At Russell Library tonight at 6:30 you can join their Classic Mystery Book Discussion group to explore the duMaurier classic, “Rebecca.” Financial Literacy for Millennials happens Tuesday at 6:30 pm. They’re screening “Arrival” on Wednesday in their And The Oscar Goes To. . . series. On Friday at 9 am there’s a Summer Meals Blitz Day Meetup for volunteers and partners to coordinate the free summer meals program in Middletown. Registration is recommended. www.russelllibrary.org

In New Haven at Café Nine, tonight, the bill includes Gary War, The Mountain Movers, Camby, and Alexander. Wednesday it’s BJ Barham, Frank Viele, and Charley Crockett. On Thursday, Alash, and Sam Moth take the Café stage. Friday’s Wind Down Happy Hour features Lynn Malavolte, followed by a concert to benefit The International Institute of Connecticut which serves refugees and immigrants. Artists include Witch Hair, Sam Carlson, Bilge Rat, and more. Saturday’s Jazz Jam Session is with Mike Coppola and Friends, and the late show headlines Lea and Swamp Yankee. The Sunday Buzz Matinee theme is Songbirds and Songwriters and includes Lara Herscovitch, Kate Callahan, and Caroline Doctorow. Black-Eyed Sally’s, on Tuesday
nights, Michael Palin’s Other Orchestra works out new material. Wednesday’s
Community Blues Jam hosts Tim McDonald this week. It’s a record release party
on Thursday for the new album from Cruz Machine. There’s funk, soul, rock and

On Friday they open “Monterey Pop,” a documentary celebrating the 50th anniversary of this iconic Summer of Love concert, and “The Book of Henry,” about a suburban family with a dangerous secret.
