At the Russell Library in Middletown tonight, Backstage at the Ballet will be presenting a program that lets the audience look at what it takes to put on a full ballet -- from costumes to choreography! Tours of Russell Library are ongoing this week, on Monday, April 10, Tuesday, April 11, and Thursday, April 13, Starting in the Lobby. the Film Screening this week is Haunted Honeymoon on Tuesday, April 11, in the Hubbard Room www.russelllibrary.org
Tonight, the Buttonwood Tree in Middletown offers Moments of Gratitude and a weekly open mic. Tuesday brings a weekly afternoon yoga session to the Buttonwood at 1 pm. Comedian Joe List performs on Thursday the 13th, and Father-Son Jazz Duo Khalif and (the legendary) Charles Neville take the Buttonwood Tree Stage, Friday night. Saturday at Noon brings the weekly Aligned With Source workshop: Hosted by Annaita Gandhy. Acoustic folk pop with the Kennedys make for the main event Saturday night. Buttonwood ends the week with a piano concert with Ann Sweeten on Sunday.

Up in Hartford at Black-Eyed Sally’s, tonight’s Jazz Monday’s session features a special secret guest artist this week. Every Tuesday night at Sally's, Michael Palin’s Other Orchestra gets funky as they jam and work out new material. Thursday nights Sally’s house band, The Po Boys, feature special guests. Friday brings EGGY W/ COUSIN EARTH to Black Eyed Sally’s. Saturday the DAN BROTHER BAND FROM NYC plays blues, funk and soul.
