on 88.1 FM WESU Middletown. WESU offers talk radio from NPR and Pacifica during
daytime programming, as well as independent and local public affairs sources. On
weeknights and weekends, our student and community volunteers bring you the best

Tonight, The Mattabesset String Collective, a five-piece string band, plays an eclectic mix of bluegrass, blues, country and rock at The Buttonwood Tree. Saturday morning at 10:30, Anniata Gandhy’s holds her weekly workshop, Aligned with Source. Saturday afternoon at 1pm, the Middlesex Music Academy Student Recital will take the Buttonwood Stage. Saturday night, Pesky J Nixon offers compelling harmonies and narratives backed by disparate instrumentation including accordion, mandolin, tribal percussion, and more. Fridays Weekly wind down an early set at 5pm featuring The Buttondowns. Don Dilego and Tha Backyard Committee take the stage at 9pm tonight as the main event at Café Nine. Saturday’s weekly Jazz Jam Session features Gary Grippo and Friends this week. Saturday night, it’s a triple bill featuring The James Mauri 4, Fiction, and Crown Colony. The Sunday Buzz Matinee brings you ANDREW BIAGIARELLI and TONY REGETS. Sunday night, Café Nine welcomes AUDREY CAMPBELL, MARIE PINETTE, DANNY HENRY, and Joe Stalsworth. www.cafenine.com

It’s a busy time at Wesleyan University Center for the Arts as they wrap up the Fall semester. Tonight The Capstone Theater Production: THE SELF will run several times in Wesleyan’s Patricelli Theater. THE SELF is an exploration in performing one’s own life, wherein a seven-person ensemble will tell personal stories. Also in Middletown at 4:00 PM this coming Sunday, First
Church will host a CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS CONCERT. The concert is free and
open to the public and features traditional and classical, as well as Gospel

and a reception and "mini" Holly Fair will follow the concert.
