Middletown, at the Buttonwood Tree, Thursday night, Bob Gotta
hosts a long running acoustic open mic. Friday night The Grays perform their
electric gypsy tribal jazz. Saturday morning, The Buttonwood
offers a morning class of Transitional Tai Chi at 9:15 am followed by the
Aligned with Source meditation at 10:30am. At 4pm this Saturday at The
Buttonwood Tree, The International Beat Poetry Festival presents an open mic and
features poets: Yvon Cormier and Elizabeth Vickery Haight with live music
accompaniment by Podunk Throwbacks. Saturday evening, Jazz guitarist and
composer Sinan Bakir returns to the Buttonwood Tree with his new trio featuring
George Mastrogiannis on drums and Silvain Castellano on bass. This Sunday evening
brings The Great Make Believe Society's improvised comedy theater shows for a

The Art
Guild of Middletown is pleased to announce its 13th Annual Juried Exhibit at
Wesleyan University’s Zilkha Gallery June 3-12. There’s a gala opening reception
and awards ceremony this Friday, June 3, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. to celebrate
original artwork by Connecticut Artists juried by award-winning painter Bill

The Green Invaders take the stage for a night of heavy metal. Friday
night’s bill features Slip and Fall for a night of Ska, Punk & Reggae. Saturday
afternoon at 1pm it’s a metal matinee at Cherry Street Station with Cyperna for
a 1pm show. Sunday brings another early
show when the hardcore metal band Ni-hil hits the stage to end their 2 month US

Thursday, Hartford’s Real Art Ways is showing Our Last Tango, which tells
the life and love story of Argentina’s most famous tango dancers Maria Nieves
Rego and Juan Carlos Copes. Before the 7:30 PM film showing, Tomorrow, The
Hartford Argentine Tango Society will be on hand to get visitors into the swing
of it, Starting at 5:30 PM. Also n screen through Thursday at Real Art
Ways is, Vita Activa: The Spirit of Hannah Arendt, a "no-holds-barred
documentary" about the influential philosopher, of the 20th century who

3 hours of Disco and dance music of the 70’s and 80’s.
We switch it
up big time at 3am when Maximum Rock & Roll Radio comes alive to offer the
best DIY punk, garage, and hardcore Rock and Roll.
BBC World
news comes your way at 4 and then we begin tomorrow’s broadcast day with
Morning Edition from NPR at 5am.
