The Russell Knitters will meet on Saturday, June 15, 11:00am-1pm in Meeting Room 3. Mustard’s Retreat, the classic folk duo with David Tamulevich and Michael Hough, will perform on Saturday, June 15 at 2pm in the Hubbard Room. More can be found online at russelllibrary.org
Tonight at the Buttonwood Tree, Evening Oasis presents belly dancers with traditional dress and music. Every second Thursday is Writers Out Loud Talented prose writers of every ilk come to Writers Out Loud! Writers Out Loud!, a literary prose open mic w/host Cocomo Rock & co-host Al Bower, Jr.
Friday night The Buttonwood Tree presents a singer songwriter Double Bill featuring An Evening with Joy Ike & Hannah Christianson. Joy Ike has been compared to the likes of Corinne Bailey Rae, Norah Jones, and Regina Spektor. On Saturday mornings The Buttonwood offers a series of wellness activities from Qigong (sounds like > Chee gung) and yoga to Self empowerment workshops. Saturday night the buttonwood tree presents George Cole and his band for an Evening of Gypsy Jazz & Uptown Swing.
Sunday, is a busy day the Buttonwood. With a worship service at 10am. Then Food Not Bombs shares food about 1 pm in front of the Buttonwood each Sunday. All are welcome to enjoy a meal and help prepare them before hand at the First Church on 190 Court Street at 11:30 am.
Sunday afternoon at 1pm brings Rumpus, a platform for others to explore their own music. At 4pm The monthly Poetry Potluck is an opportunity for people who enjoy poetry to get together to share and discuss their favorite works. It isn’t an open mike. Sunday night at you are invited to Celebrate James Joyce by sharing his works with others. Music TBA. Irish breads provided by O’Rourke’s Diner. The event is hosted by hosted by Abby Reynolds. Tonight at Cafe Nine in New haven, the ODDBALL EVENTS Roots Music Series presents a bill featuring The Chris Massey Band and Seth Adam.
Thursday night at Café Nine there’s a BURLESQUE-A-PADES BEACH PARTY.
Friday night brings The Joiner Inners, Fiesta Brava, and Back From Earth to Café nine.
The weekly Saturday Afternoon Jazz Jam is hosted by Tony Dioguardi and Friends this week. Then, Saturday night Elison Jackson, Ports of Spain, and Head with Wings take the stage.
