Connecticut Heritage Productions announces auditions for an April production of Body & Sold drama about the sex trade in America. Roles are available for males and females 18 and older. Auditions will be held at the Russell Library, on Broad Street in Middletown Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, it's Bob Gotta’s long standing acoustic open mic at the buttonwood tree in Main Street in Middletown, with 6:30 sign ups and 7:00 start. Friday, At 8 o'clock the Buttonwood hosts a night of poetry, music and improvisation with the words of poet John L. Stanizz, paired with blues and jazz from Jim Mercik and percussionist Abu Alvin Carter Sr. Saturday, Jazz Pianist and composer Laszlo Gardony performs with his trio at 8 at the Buttonwood Tree, but before that, catch an interview with Laszlo gardony will on river valley rhythms, here on wesu 88.1fm, on Thursday at 4.  And Sundays Food Not Bombs shares food about 1 pm in front of the Buttonwood. Wesleyan music teacher, Teacher Lisa Moore, the founding pianist of the Bang on a Can All-Stars, performs a program of American masterpieces, Thursday at 8pm in Crowell Concert Hall on the Wesleyan campus. Also at Wesleyan on Thursday you can catch a graduate music recital by Christopher Rigg at 10pm in the CFA Hall. Both events are free.

Friday at 7 in Wesleyan’s Crowell Concert Hall, it's a senior music recital by Spencer Hattendorf entitled "Language Barrier," and on Friday and Saturday, Wesleyan Artist in Residence Hari Krishnan brings a night of South Indian dance and music to the CFA Hall, as performed by his students at Wesleyan and dancers from Mr. Krishnan's dance company. Through Wednesday, Cinestudio, the Trinity College Cinema in Hartford, shows a run of Shame, starring Michael Fassbender as a man struggling with his addiction to sexual pleasure. Thursday Cinestudio hosts a special showing of My So-Called Enemy, with a discussion with Director Lisa Gossels. In 2002 Palestinian and Israeli teenage girls traveled to the U.S. to participate in a women’s leadership program, and this documentary follows six of the girls as they learn to know their “enemies” as human beings. Friday through the weekend, Cinestudio shows The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. More information atwww.cinestudio.org

Real Art Ways in Hartford shows this year’s oscar-nominated shorts, both animates and live action, through thursday. Also through thursday at Real Art Ways is Tomboy, a story of a young french girl who lives as a boy, to the chagrin of her parents.Friday through next week, Real Art Ways stars a run of Crazy Horse, a documentary that peeks inside Paris’s Crazy Horse cabaret – the most famous nude dance show in the world. at 6, it's Your daily dose of alternative international news and reporting from the Pacifica Network on Free Speech Radio News. 

at 6:30-8pm it's Wild Wild Live with Tom Foolery.  Featuring the best music Wesleyan has to offer, in a live and intimate studio setting. Tom will talk about the Wesleyan music scene, on campus and off, and supplement live material with artist interviews and recordings of live shows across the Wesleyan campus.

From 8-930pm, Acoustic Blender with Bill Revill, presents 90 minutes of Americana, country, folk, folk-rock, bluegrass, and other music that has a roots influence.

At 930pm It’s Wonderland with DJ Cheshire Cat, who’s got a song in his my heart, a chemical imbalance in his head and a musical library at his fingers. From krautrock to post-rock, grunge to garage, novelty to New Romantic, punk to prog, Wonderland has a place for it.

At 11pm -  Alive, Not Amplified with Adrien brings you the best in acoustic based music.

At Midnight, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass with DJ Sleepy Girl... features The dulcet tones of bluegrass and folk -- just not entirely. 

At 1am The Boss with DJ Moe shines the focus on a different era of Bruce Springsteen each week.

At 2am “Soundstrip” with DJ Skip McCoy and DJ Strangelove, Examines music from a different film each week, exploring how songs function in film and enhance a movie’s perspective.

At 3am late tonight, City Spotlight  City Spotlight features the musical talents of a new citty each week, highlighting the unique contributions of each locale, and spanning genres from jazz to punk rock.

The BBC World News Service kicks on at 4AM and we begin tomorrow's broadcast at 5am with Morning Edition from NPR.
