Down in New Haven at Café Nine, tonight’s early show at 7:30
features cellist and singer Leyla McCalla, and at 10 you can catch the Late
Show with Hank and Cupcakes, and Mission O. Saturday’s Jazz Jam Session will be
with Billy Cofrances at 4:30, followed at 9 by their Skansgivin’ Skaturday with
The Hempsteadys, The Dialtones, and Llama T Ska. Sunday’s 3 p.m. Jam is with
Stacy Phillips, followed by The Original Sunday Night Jam with The Cobalt

Up in Hartford, at Blackeyed Sally’s, tonight’s 9:00 show
headlines Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez. Saturday night they bring you

At Toad’s Place in New Haven, this evening they bring Chris Webby
and MarBar to the stage. Saturday’s 9pm show brings George Clinton Parliament

Tonight at 8 at Infinity Hall in Hartford, they’ve got "The
Weight" performing the music of THE BAND. On Saturday, Max Creek takes the
stage, offering electric rock jam starting at 8. On Sunday, they offer Ryan

Tonight, the 29th Annual Holiday on Main Street festival begins in
Middletown. The evening includes a tree lighting on the South Green at 6, the
arrival of Santa by horse and carriage, the Middletown High School Marching
Band performs, and the evening concludes with a tree lighting at Eli Cannon’s

Winterfest Hartford opens tonight and includes music, ice skating,

At The Buttonwood Tree here in Middletown, tonight at 8 you can
hear the Omar Tamez Quartet play their unique blend of jazz and traditional
Mexican music. On Saturday, the Buttonwood celebrates its new Steinway piano
with a Musical Offering by Carolyn Halsted, playing Bach, Beethoven and more,
at 7:30. Every Monday morning, the Hearing Voices Network meets at the
Buttonwood at 10:30 a.m. "Beyond Visible," a meditative photographic
exhibit by Emily Zeitlin and Scotty Giffen, continues through the week. Visit buttonwood.org
And on Sunday’s Food Not Bombs serves food outside The Buttonwood
Tree around 1pm. All are welcome to enjoy the meal and to help prepare it beforehand,

Now here's a rundown of cinema off the beaten track in Central
Connecticut:
At Real Art Ways in Hartford, the run of Citizenfour, Laura Poitras’ documentary of the events of the Edward
Snowden security leak, continues. Also continuing is Diplomacy, a French drama about Hitler’s plan to destroy Paris in
WWII. Opening tonight is BFFS, a
female buddy comedy about posers in a weekend couples retreat. All continue
through the weekend. On Saturday they’re showing the Internet Cat Video Festival, for cat lovers of all ages. On Sunday
at 2 there’s a one time event, Holbrook/Twain:
An American Odyssey, with the award-winning show Mark Twain Tonight and a post-film discussion with director Scott

At Cinestudio, Trinity College’s cinema in Hartford, tonight
through Sunday you can see "Boyhood," a film that follows a boy in
his journey from childhood to adulthood. On Sunday they open Rome, Open City, a restored ultra high
definition version of the 1945 classic about Italian resistance fighters being

Then from 6:30 to 7pm listen to the Middletown Youth Radio Project - A weekly radio program featuring
the thoughts, voices, creativity and talent of the kids in the WESU
neighborhood.

7 until 8:30pm we have the Universal Sound Wave with Sistah Tee - Informing listeners about local
and global issues with health, nutrition, and stress reduction tips, featuring a
wide range of music including African, reggae, gospel, R&B, Latin, and blues.

Rok-A-Dee - The Voice of Hartford, including local artists from Connecticut,
New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He also features upcoming artists performing

Hop, and Traditional gospel music.
At 3, it's Bassment Beats with DJ LOKASH, celebrating
its 10th year of bringing you the latest in aboveground &
underground hip-hop mixed live; followed by his New World Show, with the
best in Global Bass mixed live til 4. Baila coño!
Sing Out! Radio Magazine with Tom Druckenmiller comes
on at 4 until 5am with a weekly, hour-long “magazine format” program, featuring
