Café Nine’s Saturday afternoon Jazz Jam will be hosted by  Tony Dioguardi and Friends this week. This week’s session is hosted by Tim McDonald.   Reverend Payton's Big Damn Band is on stage Thursday night at Sally’s . The Durham Farmers Market is open every Thursday on the Town Green  on Main St,  from 3-6:30pm now thru Sept.   The Middletown North End Farmers Market is open from10am-2pm every Friday and is located at the corner of  Liberty and Main Streets. The longstanding Middletown farmers’ market is located on the south Green and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m now through October.

Tonight, Cinestudio, the Trinity College cinema in Hartford, closes their run of “Moonrise Kingdom” by American film director Wes Anderson.  Tomorrow night Cinestudio presents a week long run of the dramedy, "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel." Through Thursday, Real Art Ways in Hartford continues their run of Polisse, the Cannes Fim Festival winner that follows the daily lives of a tight-knit team of men and women working in the Child Protection Unit of the Parisian police. Friday Real Art Ways begins a run of Paul Williams: Still Alive, a documentary that tracks down the actor/singer/songwriter. Tickets, times, and more at www.realartways.org

From 10 to midnight, it’s Wonderland, with DJ Cheshire Cat, who's got a song in his heart, a chemical imbalance in his head and a musical library at his fingers. From krautrock to post-rock, grunge to garage, novelty to New Romantic, punk to prog, Wonderland has a place for it.

From midnight til 1:30 am, it's Back From Baltimore with Hannah, back home in Connecticut from her latest semester in Baltimore, bringing each week new and old psychedelic, indie, rock, folk, alternative, lo-fi music and at least a few tunes from Baltimore's music scene.

Then, from 1:30-2:30am, it's Random Access Music – with DJ Cheshire Cat
A suicide shuffle of songs and sounds.

After that, DJ Otto Nation is in the house with an eclectic mix of music after that until the BBC World News Service kicks on at 4 am and we begin tomorrow's broadcast at 5 am with Morning Edition from NPR.

 From 11:30 - 12:30 Anvil Isle presents a musical monsoon of alternative rock, blues, dream, funk, hard rock, indie, punk, reggae, surf, and world music inviting you to bury your feet in the sand and hear the waves come crashing through your speakers.

From 12:30-3:00 Psychedelic Rick presents the late night Summer Concert Series featuring live concerts in their full glory. Tonight will be The Allman Bros and Grand Funk Railroad at the Atlanta International Pop Fest in 1970.

From 3-4am Maximum Rock and Roll Radio features an hour of international loud rock and punk.

The BBC World News Service kicks on at 4AM and we begin tomorrow's broadcast at 5am with Morning Edition from NPR.

Also here in Middletown Mondays through Thursdays through August, from 10am-noon, Stacey Sroka leads The Buttonwood Tree’s Open Arts & Crafts program. Everyone is welcome! Tonight, California performers Mark Lemaire and Twilight bring their 'beautiful two-part harmonies and virtuoso guitar' to The Buttonwood Tree. Saturday at The Buttonwood Tree there's a double bill starting off with 'contemporary jazz guitar innovators' Sheryl Bailey and Vic Juris, followed by a little Rock n' Roll with Ray Mason. Show begins at 8:00 pm.

The Hamden Arts Commission continues its 2012 Summer Concert Series with Southside Johnny & The Asbury Dukes tonight at 7:30 pm at the Town Center Park at Meadowbrook, Hamden.

This week brings the return of the Gathering of the Vibes to Seaside Park in Bridgeport. Running through Sunday, this music festival features dozens of national and international performers. Highlights include Steel Pulse, Primus, Phil Lesh & Friends, Bob Weir & Bruce Hornsby With Special Guest Branford Marsalis,  The Mickey Hart Band, George Porter Jr, The Greyboy Allstars, Zappa Plays Zappa, The Stepkids, The Mclovins, Mates Of State, Deep Banana Blackout, Soulive And Lettuce, plus much much more with Master Of Ceremonies Wavy Gravy! The Greater Hartford Festival Of Jazz kicks off now and continues through Sunday at Bushnell Park in Hartford.  Gates Open at 5pm and the music starts at 7pm after opening ceremony. Sunday’s line up starts at 3p.m. with Destiny Africa Children's Choir followed by Dana Lauren, and Afro-Semitic Experience, and closes with a 7:30 performance from The Hartford Symphony Orchestra performing a tribute to the music of "Cannonball" Adderley featuring Erica von Kleist. Finally, in Middletown, on a social justice note, on Saturday at 1 pm, Encuentro will meet on Middletown's South Green. Encuentro  (en-kwen-tro) is a gathering of individuals who are struggling for housing, education, health, freedom, justice, a voice, space to exist, peace, respect, community and dignity, and for humanity to counter the current tendency to prioritize big business over the general welfare. On Wednesdays through July and into early August, The Friends of Long Hill Estate, together with The Long Hill Estate Authority, will once again host their free 'Music at the Mansion' series at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown. All of the concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the grounds open for picnicking at 5:30 p.m. Parking will be at the Mansion, at the Wilbert Snow School, and at Mercy High School. Concerts will be held in light rain, or the threat of showers.
